Meet Ms. Padgen

Greetings!
I am a graduate of the University of Michigan where I earned my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and my teaching certificate.

I have completed four courses of IB certification;
-Level 1: Curriculum
-Level 2: Assessment
-Level 2: Concept Driven Learners
-Level 3: Investigating Inquiry

As well as, Responsive Classroom Level 1 and Level 2 certification.

Additionally I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Illinois Wesleyan University.

I spent the first 9 years of my teaching career in environmental education where I learned the value of taking children’s learning beyond the classroom.  I am proud to have called Mitchell my home for the last 12 years, where I have taught 2nd, 3rd grade and 5th grade. I am passionate about teaching children to inquire about the world around them and to seek answers to their questions.

When I’m not teaching you will find me exploring natural areas, hiking, biking, and kayaking.  My husband and I live in Dexter with our son, who is teaching me to see the world anew with child-like curiosity!
